Electra Candle

One of the seven Pleiades. Zeus, who was not satisfied with having one Pleiades, chased and seduced Electra, despite her being wife of an Italian king, Corythus. The union would bring forth two sons, Iasion a companion of Demeter, and Dardanus, who would be a famous survivor of the Deluge, and would found a new city, Dardanus, and a new region, Dardania, in Asia Minor. He was called Atlantis by Ovid and personified the family. He would also be the founder of Troy, ancestor of Priam and his house.

Some authors consider Electra to be the mother of the Harpies, foul bird-women who lived in a Cretan cave and harried criminals, but this could be a different ocean-nymph of the same name.
