The Furies Candles.

The Erinyes, also known as the Furies, were female deities of vengeance in ancient Greek mythology. The Iliad presents them as "the Erinyes, that under earth take vengeance on men, whosoever hath sworn a false oath". They are often represented in the shape of dogs.

In Chinese culture the Furies, or Foo lions, are protection symbols that typically “guard” the entrance to palaces, temples, tombs and homes. They are always presented in pairs. These imperial guardian lions, feature a pair of highly stylized lions—often one male with a ball and one female with a cub—which were thought to protect the building from harmful spiritual influences and harmful people that might be a threat.
